I believe effective mentoring starts with seeing the whole person. I create a psychologically safe space where people feel genuinely listened to and supported, so they can reflect honestly on what matters to them and how they want to lead and work.

My approach is strengths‑based and empowering. Rather than encouraging people to become someone new, I help them recognise and build on what’s already there — their experience, values, and capabilities — and use that as a foundation for confident, purposeful action.

What people I’ve mentored say

The following words come from people I’ve worked with across academia, the public sector, and creative and professional leadership. While their contexts differ, there are strong themes in what they describe — feeling seen, regaining confidence and agency, and moving forward with clarity and purpose.

Many mentees describe the experience of being listened to deeply and without agenda.

“I felt genuinely seen as a whole person”

“Mandy took genuine interest in me as a person, not just as a resource. Through providing a safe psychological space, she gave me permission to view myself as a whole — regardless of job role, title, or organisational politics.”

“Mandy creates a space where you’re seen as a whole person, not a job title — and that changes everything.”

A consistent theme is the relief and confidence that comes from recognising existing strengths.

“I realised I already had what I needed”

“Instead of focusing on becoming some kind of new person, Mandy helped me realise that many of the core ingredients were already in place.”

“Rather than fixing gaps, Mandy amplified my strengths.”

Mentees often describe a clear shift from feeling stuck or uncertain to taking decisive action.

“I stopped feeling stuck and started moving forward”

“By placing a name on what was holding me back, Mandy unlocked the paralysis I had around recognising my own value.”

“After working together I came away with new perspectives and tangible actions I could take.”

Mentees value the balance of strategic thinking and emotional intelligence. The work stays real, human, and achievable.

“The advice was practical — but always human”

“Mandy combines sharp, practical insight with warmth, humour, and humanity.”

“Her advice was sound, actionable, and grounded — but never lost sight of the people involved.”

Several mentees describe lasting changes in how they collaborate, lead, and support others.

“It changed how I show up with others”

“Working with Mandy reshaped how I think about leadership — from going it alone to building strong alliances.”

“I realised my responsibility not just for my own success, but for the success of the team.”
